Unit Assistant Float Staffing - Contingent - Nights - Warren

GENERAL SUMMARY

Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.

Responsibilities:

1. Greets patients, visitors, and new admissions. Answers inquiries and schedules appointments. Manages telephone calls efficiently.
2. Handles clerical tasks such as filing, email correspondence, mail distribution, and report creation. Assists patients/residents with basic technology and social media.
3. Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members regarding patient care.
4. Performs safety checks on the unit and assists in meeting patient needs, escalating issues as necessary.
5. May assist with meals, tray passing, activity distribution, and patient transport within the facility.
6. Supports stocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness of units and patient rooms.
7. May help manage staff schedules and timekeeping as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of relevant experience. Professional licensure or certification can substitute for education/experience if applicable. Administrative skills in a hospital setting are preferred.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and strong computer skills are preferred.
• Hospital experience as a unit clerk is preferred.
