Department- Float Staffing

Scheduled: Contingent/Day Shift- 7:00am-7:30pm

GENERAL SUMMARY

Performs administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area.

Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients, visitors, and new admissions. Answers general inquiries and schedules patients for appointments. Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
  • Performs general clerical duties including filing, email correspondence, and mail distribution. Creates various reports and documents as assigned. Helps patients/residents with basic technology and social media.
  • Communicates with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members about patient care.
  • Performs unit safety checks. Assists with meeting patient needs and escalates as appropriate.
  • May assist with meals, pass and collect trays, pass out activities, and transport patients/residents through facility.
  • May assist with stocking supplies and keeping unit and patient rooms clean and orderly.
  • May maintain staff schedules and timekeeping as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. - Preferred use of administrative skills in a hospital setting,
  • BLS through the American Heart Association preferred.
  • Medical Terminology and strong computer skills preferred
  • Hospital experience as a unit clerk preferred.
