Job summary

NIFCO Canal Winchester is seeking an Injection Molding Materials Operator to prepare materials for molding, manage drying and transfer, and clean equipment. The role emphasizes safety, 5S, and quality adherence within a team environment at our Canal Winchester facility.

Responsibilities include maintaining material traceability, assisting with mold changes, and delivering materials to machines. Candidates must meet safety training prerequisites, hold a forklift certification, and be able to lift

Qualifications

• Must complete all safety and environmental trainings required (e.g.: Lock-out-Tag-out, HAZCOM, Blood Borne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment)
• Forklift Operation certified (by NIFCO)
• Basic knowledge of injection molding process and materials
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Must be able to do simple math calculations
• Must be able to lift 55lbs. repeatedly all day
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision
• Must be able to work overtime when required
• Must pass pre-employment screening

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials to allow successful molding of parts including drying, transfer, preparation and equipment cleaning
• Follow safety guidelines, wear PPE and report safety incidents
• Adhere to 5S procedures and keep the work area clean
• Read and apply the Part Quality Standard and inform supervisors of nonconformities
• Conduct mold changes including cleaning hopper, grinder, dryer and blender and fill out Mold Change Checklist
• Deliver materials to injection molding machines and maintain material traceability
• Comply with IATF16949 standards and daily scrap recording
• Support molding supervisor and production manager with assigned tasks

Job Summary:

Responsible for preparing all necessary materials to allow successful molding of parts.

Includes, but not limited to, material drying, transfer, preparation, and equipment cleaning.

Essential Functions :

• Safety
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and expectations (wear required PPE, follow safety protocols, and report any safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses in a timely manner)
  • Familiar with and can locate Safety Data Sheet
  • Understands OSHA’s “Right to Know” Policy
• 5S
  • Follow 5S procedure and guidance
  • Keep work area clean at all times
  • Assure proper clean point at production start-up
• Product Quality
  • Good understanding of the NIFCO Quality Policy
  • Identification and handling of non-conforming products
  • Skill and knowledge to read “Part Quality Standard”
  • Inform Molding Supervisor and/or Process Technicians when nonconformity is found
• Mold Change
  • Cleaning of hopper and material loader
  • Cleaning of grinder
  • Cleaning of material dryer and blender
  • Understand Maguire Blender operation
  • Accurately fill out Mold Change Checklist
• Delivering Material
  • Material preparation
  • Mixing of concentrate
  • Deliver materials to injection molding machines to assure no material related downtime
  • Maintains material traceability during material transfers by accurately filling out the Material Log sheet
  • Accurately fill out Material Tags
• Other Duties
  • Ensure the IATF16949 (latest revision) standard related to Manufacturing are followed
  • Daily scrap collection and recording
  • Other assigned tasks by Molding Supervisor or Production Manager as needed

Education :

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent
