The UC Davis Writing Center invites applications for lecturers to teach general education writing courses at the entry level, first year and/or upper division.
A PhD in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies or closely related field is preferred. An MA, MS, or graduate specialization in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies or closely related field will also be considered. We are also interested in candidates who have experience teaching hybrid courses and contributing to curriculum and faculty development projects.
Successful candidates will be familiar with contemporary composition theory and practice. The Writing Center is a unit that houses writing instruction as well as writing support, tutoring and consulting. Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit’s instructional need and the availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in Winter quarter 2027 through Fall quarter 2027.
Applicants must have a PhD (completed or near completed) or MA/MS in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies. Degrees in other fields may be considered along with relevant teaching experience.
