Salary range: A reasonable estimate for this position is a gross annual salary between $73,817.00 - $80,664.00.

An MA, MS, or graduate specialization in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies or closely related field will also be considered. We are also interested in candidates who have experience teaching hybrid courses and contributing to curriculum and faculty development projects.
Successful candidates will be familiar with contemporary composition theory and practice. The Writing Center is a unit that houses writing instruction as well as writing support, tutoring and consulting. The Center is committed to teaching a linguistically and culturally diverse student body and to hiring instructors who reflect that diversity. UC Davis is an AANAPISI and HSI.
Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in Winter quarter 2027 through Fall quarter 2027. Applicants must have a PhD (completed or near completed) or MA/MS in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies. Degrees in other fields may be considered along with relevant teaching experience.
Additional qualifications include experience teaching one or more of the following: developmental writing, basic writing, developmental reading.
Preferred qualifications include university-level experience in teaching diverse student populations, bilingual and multilingual students, first-generation college students, and writing across the curriculum courses. Preferred qualifications also include experience teaching hybrid and online courses and contributing to curriculum and faculty development projects.
