Job summary

Hyatt Vacation Club at Highlands Inn is seeking a part-time, seasonal server to join our dining team in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The role involves greeting guests, taking and delivering orders, and ensuring high-quality service while maintaining station cleanliness.

The position requires at least 1 year of casual full-service restaurant experience, weekend/holiday availability, and English proficiency. On-site parking, perks, and eligibility for benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a food server within a casual full-service restaurant environment required.
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language (English) used in the workplace.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and a flex shift if needed.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, ordinances and regulations and policy regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons.

Responsibilities

• Ensures station and table set-ups are complete and ready for service at the start of the shift; performs side duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage leadership team.
• Accurately take food and beverage orders and serve all requests using suggestive selling and timing standards.
• Pre-bus all tables and clear tables at the end of service.
• Enter guest orders into POS accurately; present completed checks and process payments.
• Ensure guest experience is satisfactory and initiate recoveries when issues arise.
• Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas and guest-service equipment.

Hourly Rate: $16.50

Hourly Wage: $16.50

Shift: 1st; must be available to work weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Ensures station and table set-ups are complete, replenished, and ready for service at the start of the shift and performs side duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage leadership team. (Buffing glassware, silverware, roll-ups, etc.)
• The Server will accurately take food & beverage orders and serve all food and beverage requests while utilizing a suggestive-selling technique and adhering to service timing standards.
• The server will pre-bus all tables throughout the guests dining service and ensure that tables are cleared upon the completion of the guests’ service.
• The server is responsible for entering guest orders into the point-of-sale accurately, presenting guests with completed guest checks, and for securing/processing proper payment methods.
• Server is responsible for routinely ensuring that the guests experience is satisfactory and for initiating recoveries when presented with guest-issues.
• Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas and guest-service equipment.
