SEIU USWW in Alameda, CA is seeking a full-time Bay Area Security Division Coordinator to represent security officers and support contract enforcement, member engagement and campaigns.

Qualifications include a college degree or equivalent labor/organizing experience; strong communication and people skills are essential; willingness to travel within California; vaccination as a condition of employment; comprehensive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or equivalent labor/organizing experience.
• Proven commitment to social and economic justice.
• Experience with campaigns in labor unions, public policy, or nonprofit organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in fast-paced teams.
• Clear written and verbal communication across audiences.

Responsibilities

• Organize workers and identify workplace issues.
• Participate in contract negotiations and coordinated campaigns.
• Plan mobilization for worksite actions and union events.
• Conduct one-on-ones, site visits and member-led committee meetings.
• Identify, recruit, train and develop member leaders, stewards and committees.
• Maintain database with accurate info on worksites and workers.
• Communicate with members and employers to enforce contracts and resolve disputes.
• Prepare and manage workplans, calendars, files and records.
• Engage members in union political programs.
