Job summary

SEIU USWW in Alameda, CA is seeking a Full-Time Internal - Security professional to support the Bay Area Security Division. The role involves organizing workers, coordinating campaigns, and enforcing contract provisions across Bay Area sites.

Applicants should bring labor organizing experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team. Travel within California and extended hours may be required; a valid driver’s license is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Organize workers and identify workplace issues; execute actions.
• Participate in contract negotiations and coordinated campaigns.
• Plan mobilizations, turnout for worksite actions, and union events.
• Conduct one-on-ones, site visits, and member-led committee meetings.
• Identify, recruit, train, and develop member leaders and stewards.
• Maintain databases with worker and assignment info; accurate records.
• Communicate with members and employers to enforce contracts and resolve disputes.
• Prepare work plans, calendars, and files; manage records.
• Engage members in union political programs and activities.
