Qualifications

• Commitment to social and economic justice.
• Experience with campaigns in a labor union, public policy, or non-profit.
• Knowledge of union organizing principles.
• Excellent interpersonal skills in fast-paced, diverse teams.
• Ability to plan, manage time, and work both independently and in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication across audiences.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, social media, databases, and teleconferencing.

Responsibilities

• Organize workers, identify workplace issues and initiate worksite actions.
• Participate in contract negotiations and coordinated campaigns.
• Plan, mobilize, and turnout for worksite actions and union events.
• Conduct one-on-ones, site visits, and member-led committee meetings.
• Identify, recruit, train, and develop member leaders and stewards.
• Maintain databases with accurate information on worksites and assignments.
• Communicate with members and employers to enforce contracts and resolve disputes.
• Prepare and manage workplans, calendars, files and records.
• Engage members in union political programs and activities.
