Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Ironworker Apprentice to learn how to and assist journeymen ironworkers in marking, positioning, and securing structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures.

You will support materials handling, measure layouts, and assist with crane assembly and tower prep while maintaining safety and teamwork. The position offers apprenticeship participation, formal training, and employee benefits as described in the posting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrolled in Apprenticeship Aptitude Program encouraged.
• Current driver’s license is required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety regulations and manuals; basic math skills.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeymen with reinforcing rods and materials.
• Load, transport, unload, and furnish tools and equipment.
• Maintain work area, restock supplies, and clean tools.
• Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation.
• Measure and mark layouts; verify level and plumbness; assist with brackets and anchors.
• Receive components and assist with crane assembly and tower prep.
