Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent and related electrical training.
• Minimum five years as a journeyman electrician within the past ten years.
• Demonstrated union electrical experience (e.g., IBEW).
• Current electrical license/certification as required by PA law or industry standards.
• Strong NEC knowledge and electrical safety expertise.
• Teaching experience in a higher-ed or workforce-training setting preferred.
• Experience training apprentices or mentoring in a union program.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards, assessment practices, and regs.
• Knowledge of local/regional electrical apprenticeship pathways.
• Proficiency with MS Office and LMS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and laboratory instruction in electrical theory, code, and hands-on skills.
• Maintain an engaging, inclusive learning environment for diverse students.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on performance.
• Ensure students meet course objectives and apprenticeship expectations.
• Keep accurate attendance, grades, and competencies records.
• Prepare instructional materials and ensure tools/equipment are safe and functional.
• Reinforce OSHA standards and industry safety practices.
• Provide academic and career guidance during office hours and tutoring.
• Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and professional development.
• Adhere to college policies and reporting requirements; travel for recruitment may be required.
• Maintain flexibility in course offerings and perform assigned duties.
