This is an hourly Union Engineer position. The Boiler Operator will rotate among shifts, in a pre-set, consistent schedule.
The plant operates 365 days per rotating shift schedule for the shift operators
About the Role:
As a CBRE Union Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring building system operations and performance. This role will primarily monitor Boiler operation and provide necessary technical expertise.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform maintenance and repairs to the mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for the facility and building. Keep the systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
- Systems that you'll support:
- Three 35K Lb/Hr water -tube package boilers gas and oil fired, at 120 PSI, and auxiliaries.
- Five centrifugal chillers (7500 tons total) and related equipment.
- Other equipment in the Utility Plant, and some remotely.
- Lock-out of steam production equipment during site shut-downs.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
- Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Review inspections to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
- Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
- Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
