Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Union Apprentice Engineer in Washington, DC to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. The role is part of Engineering and Technical Services, with supervision and a focus on compliant, safe, and reliable operations.

You will inspect systems like fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, oversee contractors, and document all work orders, repairs, and preventive tasks.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or trade school diploma; 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
Local 94 Union Operators license required; certifications/licenses as may be required by local/state jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

Comply with codes, regulations, and company directives.
Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing.
Oversee outside contractors performing landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, and cleaning.
Perform and record assigned repairs as well as emergency and preventive maintenance.
Review, evaluate, and complete assigned work orders.
Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks.
Deliver output by following defined procedures under supervision.
