The role involves alterations and repairs of uniforms, operating sewing equipment, managing inventory and records, and other duties as assigned. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a posted hourly pay range of $25.94 to $30.26.

Responsibilities

• Alters or mends uniforms to include making alterations in dress apparel.
• Repairs garments and work clothes where repair involves matching colors, sizes, or replacement parts.
• Performs difficult sewing techniques.
• Operates buttonhole machine.
• Manages the ordering, storing, issuing and inventory of uniforms in accordance with VA and local policy and maintains necessary records.
• Loads linen carts with linen items to be delivered to using area.
• Performs hemming of press covers and takes in seam allowances.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
