Job summary

The Minneapolis VA Health Care System seeks a Laundry Equipment Mechanic to support the Electric shop within Facilities Management. The role focuses on maintenance of complex laundry equipment in the Textile Care Processing Facility, which processes about 50k pounds weekly.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; you will troubleshoot, repair to manufacturer standards, and coordinate with vendors to keep operations running.

Qualifications

• Work in the construction or building maintenance trades.
• Ability to work with hand tools.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Worked in commercial laundry maintenance field.

Responsibilities

• Program, adjust, troubleshoot and perform scheduled and unscheduled service of complex laundry equipment.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on belts, pulleys, gears, bearings, pumps, drives, motors and transmissions.
• Identify root causes and repair to manufacturer standards; diagnose, disassemble, replace parts and reassemble.
• Plan, schedule, organize routine work and respond to unscheduled breakdowns; build vendor relationships.
