Continental is seeking a Uniformity Clerk in Mount Vernon, IL. The role requires effective communication with supervision and tire-room staff, strict adherence to safety policies, and forklift certification.

You will read gauges, identify codes, perform basic math, and enter data accurately while maintaining a neat work area. Responsibilities include monitoring for out-of-spec conditions, lifting 40–70 lbs, and carrying out duties assigned by the PLT Shift Supervisor or Department Manager.

• Able to lift 40-70 lbs tires.

Job Description

1. Uniformity Clerk must be able to effectively communicate with supervision, other tire-room personnel, and any supplying department supervision.

2. Uniformity Clerk will follow all plant policies, environmental policies, and plant and departmental safety policies. Must be certified to operate a Forklift through the Safety Department.

3. Uniformity Clerk must be able to read gauging devises, read identification tags, tire codes, and possess good math skills to add and subtract both positive and negative numbers, must be able to write, collect, and enter data as required.

4. Uniformity Clerk must be knowledgeable of tire components, tire building machines, curing presses, tuo’s, and balancer.

5. Uniformity Clerk will follow standard practices and perform all work necessary to promptly and accurately obtain quality and quantity production, and keeping work areas neat, clean, and orderly.

6. Uniformity Clerk must be alert to of out-of-spec conditions or any extraordinary condition and immediately notify tire room supervision whenever such conditions occur.

7. Uniformity Clerk‘s time must be accurately and correctly indicated on timecard with proper account code.

8. Perform other duties as directed by the PLT Shift Supervisor or Department Manager

9. Uniformity Clerk is responsible for lifting tires varying in weight from 40 to 70 lbs.

HOURLY PAY

• The hourly rate for this position is $22.22per hour. This position is also eligible for a quarterly incentive program.
• This role will be eligible for shift differential which is added onto your hourly rate. The additional shift differential is $0.20 per hour for overnightshifts, $0.15per hour for eveningshifts, and $1.00 per hour for weekendshifts.
• Pay rate is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

ENVIRONMENT

• Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes.
• New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includesevenings and weekends.
• The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise. Majority of work completed in a high heat environment.
• The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.
