Job summary

Huntingtown High School in Maryland is seeking a Unified Cornhole Head Coach to lead the program, mentor student-athletes, and promote positive, inclusive competition in line with Unified Sports® principles.

The coach will collaborate with the athletic director and Special Olympics Maryland, develop weekly practice plans, supervise volunteers and assistants, and ensure program quality and compliance with district policies.

• Demonstrated management, leadership and human relations skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the administration of the high school's Unified Cornhole team.
• Liaison with the athletic director and Special Olympics Maryland to ensure quality standards and policies are followed.
• Develop and implement weekly practice plans for unified corn hole instruction.
• Organize and lead all practices with the support of assistant coaches.
• Promote inclusive sport experiences following Unified Sports principles.
• Plan and manage competition strategies for individuals and the team.
• Handle paperwork requirements and forms for the school system and Special Olympics Maryland.
• If hosting a match, recruit and train volunteers to manage the event.
• Attend the mandatory Unified Sports Cornhole Coaches’ Training.
