Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Determine time, date, and place of hearings and schedule proceedings.
Assess testimony and documents to decide on claims.
Explain procedures and rights to ensure understanding.
Question all parties to identify issues and clarify testimony.
Direct and control hearing process and cross-examinations.
Write formal reports detailing issues and final decisions.
Advise program managers when policies are not applied correctly.
