Job summary

American International Group (AIG) seeks a Senior Underwriting Assistant in its Underwriting Support Unit. This role supports field underwriters by screening risk submissions and handling pre- and post-binding processes, working under direct supervision in the AIG Captives line.

You will review submissions, triage information, assist with renewals, issue policies and endorsements, perform loss rating, and help prepare pricing and binder packages.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial insurance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to prioritize and navigate multiple systems.
• Strong problem solving and attention to detail.
• Excellent client servicing skills.

Responsibilities

• Screen risk offerings and assist with pre- and post-binding processes.
• Assist underwriters and serve as first point of contact for brokers.
• Prepare policy writing instructions and premium billings; process policy filings.
• Perform quality control of work from Shared Services and premium audits; document discrepancies.
• Train and oversee less experienced support staff and participate in projects.
