Through formal training, mentorship, and real-world assignments, you will gain exposure to underwriting, finance, and related business functions.

Qualifications

• Rising senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in relevant fields.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Interest in underwriting and insurance industry.
• Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training to build foundational understanding of Group Benefits underwriting principles, products, and risk evaluation.
• Partner with an experienced underwriter through one-on-one mentorship while engaging with senior leaders and expanding your professional network.
• Analyze real underwriting cases by assessing risk factors and contributing to pricing decisions that support business growth and profitability.
• Collaborate with fellow Group Benefit Solutions interns on a summer-long project that strengthens analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Attend speaker sessions and learning events led by New York Life leaders across Underwriting, Finance, and related business functions to broaden your understanding of the organization.
