Selective Insurance invites motivated students to join the Ignite Internship program in Charlotte, NC for summer 2027. The Underwriting Intern role offers hands-on exposure to data analysis and underwriting activities, helping the team assess risks and contribute to policy terms.

The 11-week, full-time internship runs in a hybrid environment and emphasizes learning, collaboration with senior leaders, and real-world projects within underwriting and risk management.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student to qualify (rising juniors and seniors preferred).
• Interest in learning about the insurance industry.
• Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pull key data elements in support of 2027 business planning.
• Engage in underwriting functions pertaining to the lifecycle of a policy; including new business quoting, issuing, renewal processing and endorsements.
