New York Life Insurance Co. in Phoenix invites you to join the 2027 Group Benefit Solutions Underwriting Summer Internship Program. This 10-week, hybrid internship provides hands-on exposure to underwriting concepts, pricing considerations, and risk evaluation within a collaborative team.

You'll learn from mentors, work on real cases, and contribute to a summer project that develops analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills while networking with leaders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Rising senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Business Management, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills with a high level of comfort working with numbers.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Interest in pursuing a career in underwriting and the insurance industry.
• Customer-focused mindset with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training to learn underwriting principles, products, and risk evaluation.
• Mentorship from an experienced underwriter and exposure to senior leaders.
• Analyze underwriting cases and assist pricing decisions.
• Collaborate on a summer project to strengthen analytical thinking and teamwork.
• Attend sessions with NYL leaders to broaden understanding of the organization.
