Job summary

ACWA JPIA in Roseville, CA seeks an Underwriting Manager to lead the underwriting function for Property, Liability and Workers’ Compensation programs and to oversee strategy, exposure evaluation, renewals, and risk transfer. You will direct brokers, reinsurers, consultants, and partners while building strong relationships with member agencies and presenting to executive leadership and committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in business administration, public administration, risk management, insurance, finance, or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in public entity risk pooling, underwriting, risk financing, or similar.
• Three years in a supervisory or management capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a six-member team with a culture of collaboration, accountability and service.
• Head underwriting for Property, Liability and Workers’ Compensation programs, including strategy, renewals and risk transfer.
• Direct brokers, reinsurers, consultants, and partners to ensure performance and program value.
• Build trusted relationships with member agencies and present to leadership and boards.
