Qualifications

• Substantive experience with property, liability, workers' compensation, or comparable commercial insurance programs.
• Understanding underwriting, exposure evaluation, coverage, risk transfer, renewals, loss trends, risk pooling, and risk financing.
• Experience in a public entity risk pool, JPA, self-insured program, or governmental insurance environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of six, fostering collaboration, accountability, and member service.
• Lead the underwriting function for Property, Liability, and Workers’ Compensation Programs, including strategy and program performance.
• Direct and evaluate brokers, reinsurers, consultants, and technical partners to ensure performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Build trusted relationships with member agencies and present to executive leadership and boards.
