Job summary

Burns & Wilcox, the flagship organization of H.W. Kaufman Group, offers a 12-week summer internship in underwriting designed to develop business acumen, communication, and leadership through hands-on, real-world experience.

This paid program requires 40 hours per week on-site in Atlanta and provides exposure across commercial, personal, or professional lines. Interns will support agent marketing calls, client meetings, policy renewals, and data updates in Excel, while working with senior leaders

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Risk Management and Insurance (strongly preferred) or related field.
• Expected graduation December 2027 or May 2028.
• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Participate in agent marketing calls and attend client meetings
• Engage in insurance policy renewals
• Update new business and renewals in Microsoft Excel
• Determine which program or market best meets the needs of agency clients
• Communicating loss notices and policy changes
• Work alongside senior leaders on special projects

Education
