Job summary

Harford Mutual Insurance Group invites motivated students to join its internship program in Bel Air, MD, offering hands-on underwriting exposure and mentorship during summer 2027. • Receive hands-on training in underwriting processes, Harford Mutual appetite, target classes, and systems.
• Collaborate with intern(s) to create and present a project on an underwriting topic to senior management.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Support the Commercial Business Team during the summer of 2027. This position is for individuals currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing career opportunities in Risk and Insurance Management or related field.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Support Underwriting through the performance of specific tasks – including, but not limited to underwriting of new business files, processing policy changes, and review of supplemental information (loss runs, MVR's, financial data, inspections, etc.)
• Receive hands-on training in a variety of areas including Harford Mutual appetite, target classes, underwriting processes, systems, and general insurance knowledge
• Collaborate with other intern(s) to create and present a project on a to-be-determined underwriting topic to senior management

• Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Risk and Insurance Management or related field.
