Job summary

Harford Mutual Insurance Group in Bel Air, MD is seeking a Claims Intern for the 2027 summer. You will support the Claims team with administrative tasks, review policies and claim documentation, and assist examiners with reviews while gaining exposure to claims technology and data analysis.

This internship is for full-time undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in Risk and Insurance Management or related business field, with training and opportunities to contribute to projects

Responsibilities

• Support the Claims team through a variety of operational, administrative, and claims-related activities.
• Perform claims-related responsibilities including, but not limited to, taking first notices of loss, reviewing policies and claim documentation, conducting research, and assisting claims examiners and supervisors with claim reviews and other claim handling activities.
• Participate in department projects, business initiatives, and process improvement efforts designed to enhance claims operations and the customer experience.
• Gain exposure to claims technology, data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with business partners across the organization.
• Receive training and guidance to support these activities and professional development.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by a supervisor.

Harford Mutual is looking for a Claims intern to support the Claims team over the 2027 summer. This position is for individuals currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing career opportunities in Risk and Insurance Management or related field.
