Highmark Inc. offers a Summer 2027 Underwriting Undergraduate Internship to gain hands-on experience in underwriting operations, pricing analysis, and financial evaluation within healthcare and insurance.

Interns work with experienced underwriters on new business and renewal activities, learning how underwriting decisions affect growth, profitability, and client relationships. The program includes mentorship, project-based learning, and exposure to underwriting, finance, accounting, business

Qualifications

Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients to plan assignments and resolve daily operational problems.
Provide entry-level professional services under supervision with guidance and mentoring from senior staff.
Undertake and/or participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise.
Participate in the planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise and ability.
Conduct research and reporting inclusive of recommendations or alternative proposals for action as requested by management.
Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the operating unit.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
