Job summary

Highmark Inc. offers a Summer 2027 Underwriting Undergraduate Internship designed to provide hands-on exposure to underwriting operations, pricing analysis, and financial evaluation within healthcare and insurance.

As part of the Labor & Education Underwriting Team, interns will assist with pricing for new and renewal business, analyze financial data, and support cross-functional projects that drive business growth and profitability.

Qualifications

Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
Pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients to plan assignments and resolve day-to-day operational issues.
Under supervision, provide entry-level professional services aligned with day-to-day operating objectives and receive guidance and mentoring from senior staff.
Undertake and/or participate in projects and programs to develop professional skills.
Participate in planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise.
Conduct research and reporting with recommendations or action proposals as requested by management.
Undertake related studies or enrichment programs aligned with the unit's objectives.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
