CNA Insurance, the Cardinal brand, is seeking an Excess & Surplus Underwriting Consultant to lead the overall management, analysis, and development of a highly complex book of business in National Accounts Property, Wholesale. When you join the Cardinal, a CNA brand, National Accounts Property, Wholesale team as an Excess & Surplus Underwriting Consultant, you are responsible for the overall management, business development, analysis and monitoring of a highly complex book of business. You will be recognized as a technical expert in underwriting ground-up monoline policies. Under general management direction, you will work within broad limits of authority on assignments requiring a high degree of technical complexity and coordination.
This hybrid role will work 4 days per week in the market from our local offices in California, Arizona, Colorado, or Texas.
As determined by CNA and depending on the applicant’s experience and/or qualifications, candidates may be hired into one of three Underwriter positions: Underwriting Specialist, Underwriting Consultant, or Underwriting Consulting Director. Typically, 3-10+ years of related experience.

In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $72,000 to $141,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
