Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations preferred.
• Typically, a minimum of eight years’ underwriting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages complex underwriting risks with diagnostic analysis.
• Develops endorsement language for highly complex risks.
• Determines pricing for complex risks with financial and competitive analysis.
• Makes recommendations on underwriting policy and pricing strategy.
• Presents reports to management on risk quality and profitability.
• Markets products through agencies and brokerage networks.
• Maintains agency/broker relationships in assigned territory.
• Keeps current on state regulations and industry trends.
• Mentors less experienced underwriters and assists in training.
