Job summary

Travelers is seeking an entry‑level underwriter within the Construction Services UPDP. You will evaluate financial and business risk, build relationships with clients and agents, and participate in mentorship and classroom training aimed at developing underwriting expertise.

You will join a collaborative team within Bond & Specialty Insurance, gain hands‑on experience, and progress through structured learning while traveling to key meetings as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or one year of applicable business experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to leverage analytical skills.
• Take initiative and learn the industry, product line, and internal programs.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze financial statements to evaluate business risk.
• Build relationships with agents, brokers, and insured clients.
• Undergo training to underwrite, market to, negotiate with agents and brokers.
• Develop sales plans and collaborate with Travelers teams.
• Travel to internal and external meetings as needed.
