Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced underwriter in the United States (Arizona) to provide comprehensive underwriting support and manage renewal activity. You will serve as the primary contact for designated accounts, gather information, and process renewal quotes with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with claims, brokers, and internal stakeholders, guiding endorsements within authority and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to operate within a network environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support for underwriting activities.
  • Serve as the main contact for designated accounts.
  • Manage tasks throughout the renewal process.
  • Assist with new prospective accounts from submission to expiration.
  • Make account decisions and address endorsements within authority.
  • Gather underwriting information and complete renewal quotes and binder documents.
  • Accept new risks when authorized within underwriting limits.
  • Complete rating, experience mods, and policy issuance for renewals.
  • Prepare renewal quotes and support underwriting review.
  • Review renewal files and draft rating/pricing recommendations.
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters to gather claim information.
  • Provide SME on IDT and Duck Creek.
  • Support underwriters with day-to-day processes.
  • Assist with quality reviews and special projects.
  • Learn market, underwriting, business plans, and profit drivers.
  • Provide customer service to brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Communicate Line of Business strategy and influence broker adoption of changes.
  • Report technology issues and communicate resolutions.
  • Assist with training and mentoring colleagues.
  • Maintain underwriting documentation and records.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job description

  • Provide comprehensive support for underwriting activities

  • Complete rating, experience modifications, and policy issuance for automatic renewals
  • Prepare renewal quotes and support underwriting review
  • Review renewal files and draft rating/pricing recommendations
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters to gather claim information
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Insurance Desktop (IDT) and Duck Creek (DC)
  • Support underwriters with day-to-day processes
  • Assist with quality reviews and special projects
  • Learn about the market, underwriting, business plans, and profit drivers
  • Provide customer service to brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues
  • Communicate Line of Business strategy and influence broker adoption of changes
  • Report technology issues through the business ticketing system and communicate resolutions
  • Assist with training and mentoring colleagues
  • Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and records
  • Ensure adherence to record-keeping policies and procedures

Requirements
  • 7-10 years prior experience within the insurance industry
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance business concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to operate within a network environment
  • Ability to lead and mentor
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently in a fast-paced environment
