Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, including insurance products, policy processing procedures and documentation.
  • Strong time management and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform underwriting analysis and documentation to determine risk acceptability for renewal and new business within assigned authority.
  • Handle endorsement requests within delegated authority and refer exceptions to the underwriter with recommended action.
  • Engage agencies to clarify endorsement intent or obtain missing information.
  • Handle assigned renewal books, triage applications/specifications, and formulate next steps for the underwriter.
  • Liaise within the branch and across CNA to resolve billing, collections, risk control, underwriting guidance, line-of-business, and underwriting-services issues.
  • Document assigned files for completeness, compliance, and quality.
  • Execute advanced pricing strategies and document pricing rationale.
  • Complete quote proposals and negotiate with external partners within assigned authority.
  • Serve as first-line contact for producers/customers on account-related matters and identify upsell or account-rounding opportunities.
  • Assist in marketing products and services through external partners and make field visits.
  • Serve as an expert resource on systems and workflows; train, solve problems, coach others, and provide feedback to internal underwriting partners.
  • Keep current on line-of-business strategy, state and territory issues, regulations, and trends.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience

  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, including insurance products, policy processing procedures and documentation

  • Strong time management and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners

  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks

  • Strong capability to advise and coach others

  • Demonstrated customer service experience

  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of people daily in person, via telephone and email

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
