Job summary

AXA XL in Exton, PA, is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team through end-to-end handling of renewal and prospect accounts under underwriting oversight.

You will pre-underwrite, collect information from Brokers, and prepare pricing and binder packages, collaborating with Underwriters, Brokers, and Reinsurers across global networks. This role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related insurance experience/training.
• Robust interpersonal and professional communication with diverse groups.
• Proven prioritization and time management with accurate results.
• Organizational, problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), Internet Explorer and Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-underwrites, evaluates risk, and assesses completeness of underwriting packages.
• Communicate with Brokers to collect account and insured information for risk analysis.
• Apply knowledge of line of business product underwriting rules for pre-analysis support.
• Collaborate with Underwriters, Brokers, Reinsurers, and internal units to manage tasks and accounts.
• Communicate account status to ensure completion of subjectivities for policy issuance and premium collection.
• Develop initial pricing, basic coverage structuring, quotation, and binder packages for underwriter review.
• Manage workflow and status of tasks across the network of stakeholders.
• Correspond with internal and external contacts across time zones and languages.
• Utilize Salesforce for accurate data input to support underwriting needs.
• Possibly provide Subject Matter Experts for Underwriting Support Unit.
