Job Description:
The Fac Property Team of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Underwriting Assistant I to join our Warren, NJ/Chicago, IL office. This person will be responsible for clearance, processing, and modeling accounts through Everest’s underwriting & pricing system, maintaining files, and creating documentation for bound accounts. The position offers a varied and challenging workload and would be a great fit for anyone who has strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as an attention to detail.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Daily Review of General Submission Mailbox for Clearance
- Backup for Clearance of Other Branches
- Processing Binders and Endorsements in Accounting system
- Typing certificates and endorsements for direct business accounts
- Assisting Underwriters in Binding accounts
- Setting up Advices and Docusign for UWRs
- Follow ups on Certificates & Binders with Brokers
- Run and analyze catastrophe models and price a significant volume of reinsurance contracts
- Review and interpret reinsurance submissions
- Responsible for quality assurance of data and scrub when necessary
- Interact with underwriters and provide analytical support on contracts
- Work on improving and automating modeling workflow
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in either business, risk management or related field is preferred
- 0-3 years of experience in Reinsurance industry or Cat modeling preferred
- Recent Graduates are encouraged to apply
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong work ethics
- Problem solving skills and self-motivation

- Strong collaboration & Teamwork skills
For NJ and IL Only: The base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $72,500 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
