Overview
The RPS Fair Lawn team is looking for an Inside Underwriter/Broker to join our team. Our office offers a growing, fast paced and energetic environment where management is invested in our team members. This is a full-time fully remote role. The typical working hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am until 5 pm.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Assist Commercial Producers in market placement of new and renewal accounts in
both binding authority and brokerage markets. Evaluate & Quote (New & Renewal)
Property & Casualty risks to meet company standards, underwriting guidelines and
production quota/goals
- Build comprehensive submissions and send risks to Brokerage facilities for quotes
- Handle broker and carrier correspondence in a professional manner
- Cross-Sell across other departments within branch/company
- Engage with clients in a professional and friendly manner
- Build relationships with both retail clients and company underwriters
- Meet quality and timeliness standards
- Work with various underwriters to market new and renewal business
- Perform other duties as so directed by management in line with the objectives of the
Company
About You
- Experience handling Commercial Property & Casualty accounts
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong command of the English language
- Service oriented
- Be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Organized
- Motivated, self-starter
- Ability to speak effectively one on one and within a group
- Ability to listen effectively
- Willing to take insurance courses (continuing education)
Preferred
- 2+ years’ experience in the Commercial Lines Insurance Industry
- Experience in an insurance processing system (AIM, Docucorp or other processing
system)
- Experience handling Surplus Lines policies
- Active Producer’s License
