Job summary

Bridge Specialty Group seeks an Underwriting Assistant to join our Fort Lauderdale team in Florida. You will support the Underwriter by reviewing applications, inspections, and information to evaluate, classify, and rate submissions for insurance, ensuring accuracy and timely issuance of policies.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, 1–3 years in a similar role, strong confidentiality, excellent proofreading, and proficient with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Strong multitasking capabilities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent proofreading and accuracy.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Professional demeanor and customer-focused mindset.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Underwriter by reviewing insurance applications, inspections, and other information to evaluate, classify, and rate submissions.
• Provide full assistance and support for the sales and production process; including, but not limited to, providing new business quotes as needed.
• Issuance of renewals.
• Work with Underwriter when reviewing risks submitted by Producers, rate submissions for premium and terms, and issue written binders.
• Review indications, quotes, binders, submissions and policies for completeness and a high degree of accuracy.
• Become familiar with agency management software systems and suggest labor-saving uses to management.
• Order and review inspections to verify information and underwriting guidelines.
• Issuance of Certificates of Insurance.
