Job summary

FM, a long-established mutual insurance company, offers a Spring 2027 Underwriting Systems & Analytics Co-op where you will work at the intersection of business, data, and technology, gaining exposure to underwriting operations, analytics, reporting, and AI-enabled tooling.

You will analyze operational data, identify process improvements, and collaborate with stakeholders across Underwriting, Operations, and Information Technology to deliver practical, data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; other backgrounds with relevant skills encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work full time during the Spring internship and commute to the assigned office location.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; analytical, organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated curiosity and interest in leveraging technology and AI to solve business problems.
• Ability to analyze information, identify opportunities for improvement, and present recommendations clearly.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL.
• Exposure to AI tools, machine learning concepts, or automation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting operations through data analytics, reporting, and process optimization.
• Assist in modernizing data processes using AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Underwriting, Operations, and Information Technology to implement improvements.
• Develop practical data-driven recommendations and communicate insights effectively.
