Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Underwriter/Underwriting Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in assessing the creditworthiness of potential clients, evaluating financial data, and making informed lending decisions. Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to assess risk and creditworthiness of applicants.
- Evaluate and underwrite applications for factoring and asset-based loans, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and provide tailored financing solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive underwriting reports and present findings to management.
- Monitor and manage the ongoing performance of the portfolio, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate actions.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations and address any concerns.
- Stay updated on market trends, regulations, and best practices in underwriting.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Experience in commercial lending in the credit risk assessment and underwriting function.
- Proficient understanding of collateral, structure, pricing, and lending policies.
- Prior experience in underwriting for invoice factoring, asset-based lending, and/or purchase order financing is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree (in accounting, finance, or a related field) is preferred but not required if the candidate has relevant experience in underwriting and credit risk assessment functions.
- Working knowledge of relevant tax, accounting, and legal issues is a nice to have.
