Job Type: Permanent Build a brilliant future with Hiscox Drive growth with an ambitious team of MPL Underwriters at Hiscox Position: Underwriter Reporting to: Regional Manager – MPL Location: Atlanta, New York, Boston, Hartford The Role: Hiscox USA is currently searching for a dynamic, engaging and solutions-oriented Underwriter to drive new professional liability business and complex renewal business within the MPL sector in the West Coast region. This position provides a unique opportunity for a professional liability specialist to join a fast paced, dynamic team to write policies tailored to the specific requirements of the MPL sector. Lines of business include commercial general liability, professional liability (E&O) and cross-sold Cyber from time to time. We also specialize in accountants, real estate agents, property managers, trustees, consultants, freight forwarders, staffing firms, TPAs, associations, and more! Risks vary greatly in size and complexity (from start-ups to large, multinational entities). We provide an entrepreneurial climate that values and rewards thoughtful risk taking, excellence in execution and ownership in body of work.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Underwrite, price and negotiate accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the company’s strategy and guidelines for the product lines: Miscellaneous Professional Liability Insurance | Hiscox
• Develop new broker relationships and increase depth of existing broker relationships throughout the Southeast & East Coast region to drive production
• Engage with the national MPL team to learn and teach collaboratively
• Maintain excellent customer service standards
• Consistently exceed minimum quote output numbers established by MPL manager
• At times, regional travel required including industry events and broker visits

• 3+ years of experience in professional E&O coverage

• B.A./B.S degree is preferred
• Willingness to develop business, with travel throughout the West Coast up to 25%, required

Salary Range: $70-$100k The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
