Job summary

Aon is seeking an Underwriter for the Motorsports Division in Fort Wayne, IN. This is an office-based role operating from our Fort Wayne office with travel for field underwriting as needed.

The ideal candidate will review applications, evaluate risk, and determine appropriate premiums while supporting sales/marketing objectives in the region. 3–5 years in underwriting or motorsports exposure is preferred, with licenses or the ability to obtain them within six months.

Qualifications

• P&C/A&H licenses or ability to secure licenses within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree or commensurate education and/or work experience.
• 3-5 years underwriting experience or experience within the motorsports industry.
• Direct sales/marketing.
• Advanced verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate insurance applications and related documents to classify risk and determine premiums.
• Obtain all relevant information not included with initial submission for thorough risk evaluation.
• Review and evaluate new/renewal business and recommend actions to attain premium/rate and loss ratio.
• Prepare quotations/proposals for presentation to clients.
• Approve coverages within underwriting authority or decline risk; refer when needed.
• Review policy forms to ensure consistency and inform clients/brokers of coverage.
• Complete underwriting assignments as directed by management.
• Travel for field underwriting responsibilities including client visits and loss control.
• Conduct and complete loss control surveys/reports within required timelines.
• Sell and market all coverage lines and products to direct clients and brokers.

Aon is looking for an Underwriter in our Motorsports Division at Fort Wayne, IN !!

This is an office based role working from our Fort Wayne, IN office.

Within stipulated underwriting authority limits, this position is accountable for reviewing and evaluating applications for insurance coverages in order to classify the d e gree of insurable risk and determine appropriate premium amounts. This position is responsible for handling submissions involving complex exposures and medium to high coverage limits.

In addition, this position is responsible for the sales/marketing and premium production objectives in an assigned region/territory and programs. The role may also require an ability to effectively conduct loss control surveys and make recommendations within the parameters of the insurability guidelines for the carrier. Some travel may be required.

What the day will look like:

• Review and evaluate insurance applications and related documents, including inspection reports, financial statements, loss data, MVR 's, and other information needed to properly evaluate and classify the degree of risk in relation to proposed coverage limits.


• Obtain all relevant information not included with the initial submission to ensure a thorough evaluation of the risk.


• Review and evaluate new/renewal business and recommend appropriate actions to attain premium/rate and loss ratio


• Prepare own or review other quotations/proposals for presentation to clients.


• Approve coverages requested within specified underwriting authority, either as submitted or on a modified basis, or decline the risk in its entirety; refer with recommended action if risk exceeds underwriting


• Review policy forms used in specific programs to ensure consistency and keep clients and brokers informed of coverage


• Complete underwriting assignments at the direction of the Underwriting Manager or Underwriting Director.


• Travel to fulfill field underwriting responsibilities that may be a part of assigned accounts including client visits, sales presentations, industry conventions and loss control


• Conduct and complete or order all loss control surveys/reports in the required timelines for each assigned program.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $60,000 to $70,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
