Argo Group in Los Angeles is seeking a production underwriter to market, underwrite, and process assigned lines of business. This on-site role requires collaboration with brokers, analytical data work, and strict adherence to underwriting guidelines.
The candidate will review policies, price risk, and manage portfolio performance while ensuring regulatory compliance across states. A bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in insurance are expected, with CPCU/IIA preferred.

This is a production underwriting position responsible for marketing,underwritingand processingassignedlines of business.
This is a 100%in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.
Review and price policies to verify acceptability based upon company underwriting guidelines and granted underwriting authority.
Utilize underwriting tools todetermineaccurateclassifications, rates, and premium charges.
Interact in person, via email, and by phone with brokers to obtain further risk-specific details, negotiate terms and pricing, and explain company positions.
Manage assignedportfolioin underwriting territory, including the performance (GWP, loss ratio) of assigned brokers.
Create, analyze, and interpret data from various reports/dashboards.
Complete underwriting analysis andmaintaincomplete underwriting file.
Resolve audit disputes within assigned territory.
Review state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territory to properly transact business within the state.
Participate in educational sessions within the department.
Bachelor's degree and three-plus years related insurance experience and/or equivalent combination of education
Three years underwriting experience with authority, preferably in FI lines
Proventrack recordof driving profitable growth
Advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Demonstrates an understanding and ability to effectively engage in the negotiation process
Strong oral and written communication skills
Previousinsurance educational work, IIA and CPCU designation preferred
Detail oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to travel
The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
