Argo Group in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a production underwriter responsible for marketing, underwriting, and processing submissions for designated lines. This is a 100% in-office role requiring on-site work during standard business hours, with travel to client locations possible.
You will underwrite new business and renewals, foster broker relationships, and build a submission pipeline to drive production and profitability. Strong negotiation, communication, and Excel skills are essential.

This is a production underwriting position responsible for marketing,underwritingand processing assigned lines of business. Responsibilities may also includeparticipatingin special projects and mentoring less experienced staff.
This is a 100%in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.
Underwrite and analyze new business and renewal submissions for our assigned area.
Ensure our marketing initiatives are achieved andthat consistentcommunication of our products and servicesareprovided to our retail and wholesale brokers.
Further develop existing broker relations as well asestablishnew relationshipsin targeted territories to attract business opportunities.
Activelyparticipatein client and broker meetings.
Develop andmaintaina submission pipeline sufficient to achieve overall production and business mixobjectives.
Use market contacts to bring in business,gatherand share market intelligence andcross sellother products.
ABachelor’sdegree from an accredited universityrequired orequivalent combination of experience and education.
A relentless desire to continually update your skill level through continuing education and self-development.
Previousinsurance educational work, IIA and CPCU designations are strongly preferred.
A minimum of five years underwriting experience with authority
A genuine excitement to not only meet, but exceed, our customer’sexpectationoneach and everyinteraction with the customer.
Demonstrated robust and productive relationships with professional liability specialist brokers in the Central U.S., marketplace.
Demonstrated strong negotiation skills, achieving favorable outcomes in win/win negotiations.

A strong focus on execution in getting things done right.
Proven ability to consistently produce and deliver expected results.
Excellent ability to collect, gather,manipulateand analyze information in detail to draw conclusions on how to underwrite an account profitably.
Advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.
Richmond & Omaha pay range: $94,452 - $160,344
Albany Houston & Chicago pay range: $103,398 - $176,562
Los Angeles & New York City pay range: 113,424 - $192,576
