Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related insurance experience.
• 3 years underwriting experience with authority, preferably FI lines.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review and price policies based on underwriting guidelines.
• Interact with brokers to obtain risk details and negotiate terms and pricing.
• Manage assigned portfolio and monitor broker performance.
• Create and analyze data from reports/dashboards.
• Review state laws and regulatory requirements.

The Argo entities are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Clearbrook Group Holdings Inc.Job DescriptionThis is a production underwriting position responsible for marketing, underwriting and processing assigned lines of business.This is a 100% in -office position . Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.Essential Responsibilities :Review and price policies to verify acceptability based upon company underwriting guidelines and granted underwriting authority.Utilize underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.Interact in person, via email, and by phone with brokers to obtain further risk-specific details, negotiate terms and pricing, and explain company positions.Manage assigned portfolio in underwriting territory, including the performance (GWP, loss ratio) of assigned brokers.Create, analyze, and interpret data from various reports/dashboards.Complete underwriting analysis and maintain complete underwriting file.Resolve audit disputes within assigned territory.Review state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territory to properly transact business within the state.Participate in educational sessions within the department.Qualifications / Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree and three-plus years related insurance experience and/or equivalent combination of educationThree years underwriting experience with authority, preferably in FI linesProven track record of driving profitable growthAdvanced knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and OutlookDemonstrates an understanding and ability to effectively engage in the negotiation processStrong oral and written communication skillsPrevious insurance educational work, IIA and CPCU designation preferredDetail oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent analytical skillsAbility to travelThe base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience.
