Job summary

FM, a leading mutual insurance company, seeks an Underwriter I/II to support account managers on underwriting issues and loss prevention analysis. The role offers training in underwriting standards and the opportunity to advance toward account management within a comprehensive benefits program.

Responsibilities include rating, pricing, policy terms, and cross-liability analysis, with emphasis on customer service and market awareness. Bachelor's degree required, insurance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in insurance with at least 2 years of loss prevention engineering preferred.
• Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills; strong problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical underwriting assistance to account managers on values analysis, rating, pricing, and coverage terms.
• Stay current on underwriting standards, policy forms and loss prevention practices.
• Assist in development and implementation of global insurance programs meeting customer needs.
• Support meetings, proposals and client servicing activities for accounts and brokers.
• Monitor market trends, coverage options, reinsurance and developments in the insurance market.
• Develop skills to attain underwriting binding authority and progress toward account management.
