Job summary

Collins Engineers, Inc. in Fairfax, Virginia seeks an Engineer Diver to blend civil engineering with underwater inspection work. You will participate in waterfront and underwater bridge inspections, supporting reports and recommendations in a collaborative, safety-focused team.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, 0–5 years of experience, and is or will be EIT within one year; open water diving experience is required, with ADCI certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
• 0–5 years of experience.
• E.I.T. or ability to obtain within one year.
• Open water diving experience required.
• ADCI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs waterfront and underwater and topside bridge inspections.
• Assists in the completion of inspection and assessment reports.
• Reviews and interprets plans and design drawings.
• Documents findings and assists in the completion of inspection and assessment reports.
• Supports the development of recommendations for maintenance or repairs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year

Open water diving experience

ADCI certification preferred
