Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Deployables and Undersea Connectivity (DUC) Department in State College, PA. Design, build, operate, and maintain electrical, RF, fiber optic, and WiFi circuits for underwater test vehicles and facilities.

The role hires on-site; you will work with engineers/technicians, update systems, and report progress to sponsors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience for Advanced Professional.
• 2+ years of relevant experience for Intermediate Professional.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain electrical, RF, fiber optic, and WiFi circuits for underwater test vehicles or peripheral facilities.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to evaluate and design solutions to complex problems.
• Update, modernize, and maintain existing test and evaluation systems to ensure reliable operation.
• Meet with sponsors, faculty and staff engineers to define task scope and schedule constraints.
