Job summary

Delco Storm and Sewer is a full service drain and sewer contractor serving residential, commercial, and municipal customers across Delaware County and neighboring counties. We are seeking an experienced Underground Utility Lead to manage field operations for stormwater and sanitary sewer installations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years leading crews, be proficient with blueprints, trenchless technologies, and pipe fusing, and uphold rigorous safety standards on busy job sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience leading crews in underground utility, plumbing, or site work.
• Proficiency reading blueprints and construction drawings.
• Experience with trenchless pipe replacement and trench shoring.
• Pipe fusion experience; plumbing background a plus.
• OSHA 30 and Confined Space Certifications preferred.
• Strong safety, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead crews in the installation of storm and sanitary piping systems.
• Interpret and lay out work from blueprints, site plans, and utility drawings.
• Oversee trenching operations and implement proper trench shoring techniques.
• Manage day-to-day jobsite activities ensuring productivity, safety, and quality.
• Communicate effectively with foremen, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors.
• Utilize trenchless pipe replacement methods when required.
• Perform or oversee pipe fusing and ensure all connections are completed correctly.
• Act as a working leader, willing to assist with physical labor when needed to keep the job on schedule.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company procedures.
• Mentor crew members and foster a positive, team-oriented environment.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm; occasional weekends for emergency jobs

• Pipe fusing experience required; plumbing experience is a plus.
• Familiar with trench shoring systems and OSHA excavation safety standards.
• OSHA 30 and Confined Space Certification a strong bonus.
