McLain Site Solutions in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Underground Utility Pipe Layer. The role involves in-trench installation of diverse underground utilities, ensuring pipes are placed to precise line, grade, and elevation while meeting project specs and safety standards.

As part of a pipe crew, you’ll read plans, work with foremen and operators, and maintain quality workmanship. Competitive hourly pay, with overtime opportunities and full safety training are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of underground utility installation experience.
• Experience installing water, sewer, force main, and storm drainage systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, profiles, and cut sheets.
• Experience using pipe lasers and maintaining line and grade.
• Ability to safely work inside trenches around heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install underground utility systems.
• Read and interpret utility plans, profiles, cut sheets, and drawings.
• Maintain proper line, grade, and elevation using pipe lasers and grade rods.
• Lay PVC, HDPE, DIP, and RCP pipes and related materials.
• Direct equipment operators to ensure safe placement.
• Assist with pressure and gravity sewer testing and inspections.
